Pastor TJ Mbotho & TI Mbotho are the spiritual leaders and head pastors of AFM The Potter’s House Newlands, a growing Pentecostal church in Newlands West, Durban. With a deep commitment to preaching the Gospel, mentoring believers, strengthening families and serving the community, Pastor Mbotho continues to lead the church with faith, humility and purpose.
AFM The Potter’s House Newlands is more than a place of worship. It is a Christ-centred spiritual family serving people from Newlands West, Newlands East, Inanda, Ntuzuma and surrounding Durban communities. Under Pastor TJ Mbotho & TI Mbotho’s leadership, the church has become a place where individuals and families are encouraged to grow in faith, experience God’s love and live Spirit-filled lives.
Pastor TJ Mbotho & TI Mbotho’s journey into ministry was shaped by a deep personal encounter with God and a growing burden to serve people spiritually. Their calling is rooted in a desire to guide people closer to Jesus Christ, help believers understand the Word of God, and support individuals through different seasons of life.
As pastors in Newlands West Durban, they are dedicated to building a church where people can find hope, healing, encouragement and direction. Their ministry focuses on helping people develop a personal relationship with God and live with faith, purpose and spiritual strength.

From the early stages of the church, they faced challenges that are common in church planting, including financial limitations, logistical obstacles and the need to build strong community engagement. Through faith, perseverance and prayer, they continued to lead with commitment and trust in God.
Today, AFM The Potter’s House Newlands stands as a growing church in Newlands West Durban, welcoming people from surrounding areas such as Newlands East, Inanda, Ntuzuma, KwaMashu, Phoenix, Parlock, Reservoir Hills and nearby Durban communities.
Pastor TJ Mbotho & TI Mbotho’s ministry is built on strong biblical foundations. They believe in the authority of the Bible, salvation through Jesus Christ, the power of prayer and the importance of living a Spirit-filled life.
As part of the Apostolic Faith Mission of South Africa, AFM The Potter’s House Newlands carries a Pentecostal identity that values the work of the Holy Spirit in the life of every believer. Pastor TJ Mbotho & TI Mbotho teaches that faith should not only be heard in church, but lived daily through love, obedience, service and commitment to God.
